The Gift Of A Helping Hand Charitable Trust was founded on January 10, 2002. The organization was formed to serve the needy, underprivileged, underserved, economically disadvantaged and poverty-stricken families and individuals residing in distressed communities in southeastern Michigan.

2009 Through 2012 Gift Of Giving Book Drive collects new books for all ages. The book drive campaign collects books for children ages 0 through 4 and K through 12. Our book drive campaign collects Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Graphic Novels, Mystery & Action, Humor, Horror, Historical and Books for Teen.
The program support The Gift Of Giving Children Literacy Program. Give A Book For A Child To Read hosts several book distribution per year and distributed new books to low-income children to increase the awareness of reading and improve their self-esteem. The book distribution are held at local schools, day care centers, head start programs, homeless shelters, and community centers.
The program also collects educational resources for homeschoolers. The campaign collects Math, Social Studies, Health, Language Arts, Science, Language, Living Books, Physical Education, Dictionary, History, Geography, Reading, Writing, Art, Music, English, Bible Educational Supplementary Materials, Biography, Nature, Poetry, Foreign Language and Reference.
Also any donations sent to us in March or April will get Feinstein money from Rhode Island added to it - and the more of a donation you send to us, the more of the Feinstein $1 million we'll get - thanks to you! You and your company will become partners in what has become the most successful campaign of all times to fight hunger!
Our campaign goal is to secure $100,000.00 funds to launch our campaign, we have recruited more than 100 volunteers, to help host book drive to collect new books in order to host several book distribution to serve at risk children throughout southeastern Michigan.
We will continue to seek volunteers, local churches, local businesses, parents, teachers, tutors and community leaders to be involved in the campaign. The campaign is always seeking new volunteers to be on the Book Selection Committee and to host book distributions. Our four year campaign will continue to solicited potential donors to give support of their time, money and expertise and commitment for the next four years.

2009 through 2012 The Gift Of Giving Coats&Boots Campaign. The campaign is collecting new coats and new boots to help clothe over 10,000 needy children, women, men residing in distressed communities throughout metropolitan Detroit, Michigan and other Wayne counties for the next four consecutives years of the campaign.
During the four year campaign the organization goal is to raise $200,000.00 and collect over 10,000 coats and boots to help clothe and shoes the needy throughout southeastern Michigan, including Wayne, Oakland, Macomb and Monroe counties. We will recruit at least 100 volunteers to help with the campaign.
The program will distribute new coats and new boots to needy children for back to school and/or during the holiday seasons. The program will serve Wayne, Macomb and Oakland counties. The program was implemented since 80% of households lives at or below the poverty rate in southeastern Michigan and other Wayne counties, and many of these children does not have a coat and/or boots to carry them through the winter months, so we seek your support in helping us to provide these needy children with a new coat and new boots for the winter months.
The program collects new coats & new boots for The Gift Of Giving New Job, New Suit Programs is a project implemented to give economically disadvantage homeless men the opportunity to dress for success while going on job interviews to obtain a job in order for them to become self-sufficient and self-reliant.. The program was designed to help low income men residing in homeless shelters throughout the communities of metropolitan Detroit, including Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties. The suits are being distributed to economically disadvantage men in homeless shelters, substance abuse centers and other transitional housing for men, who are seeking employment and need a suit to wear to their job interview.
Economically disadvantage men will benefit from the products that are being requested. The program served economically disadvantage men of all ages. The Program is targeted toward economically disadvantage homeless men on the road to recovery and resides in urban inner cities and rural areas.
The program also collects new coats & new boots for The New Suit, New Dress For Success program supports homeless single mothers residing in homeless shelters to help them dress for success, while going on a job interview, obtaining a job or attending college or a technical trade school to learn a skill or trade that will help them to start a professional career, which will help them to become self-sufficient and self-reliant.
Our program will provide them with a outfit that will help them to feel positive about themselves and feel secure in the new step they are about to take in their life, whether it is attending school, starting a new career, or going on a job interview to begin a new career. The program will make available a new suit or a new dress to the client in helping them through their transitional process.

2009 Through 2012 Gift Of Giving Mother In Need Campaign is a four year campaign. Our organization will launch this campaign, and during this four year campaign, our organization will collect in-kind donation of gift certificates, gift cards and/or baby products such as pampers, iron-fortified infant formula, infant cereal and other baby accessories, toys and equipment to help support 2009 through 2012 Gift Of Giving Mother In Need Campaign. The campaign will serve low-income pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding women, and infants and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk.
The campaign help support and safeguard the health of low-income women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating and every necessities.

The campaign will provide assistance for a percentage of the 4 million of children, which 2 million are infants, and 1.9 million are women. The campaign will serve the 93% of households in metropolitan Detroit, Michigan living at or below the poverty rate. Sixty percent of the populations are single mothers with children under the age of 18. Fifty-six percent are low-income single mother with children under the age of 5.
Thirty-eight percent of the hungry population in Detroit, Michigan are children. One out of every 10 Americans faces hunger, and every dollar helps. One million individuals in Michigan will need food assistance. We do not want another innocence child to go to bed hunger, since one out of every six-child do every night. Millions of Americans rely on emergency food services or go hungry and almost half are children. Our effort to reduce hunger and poverty, including shelter and food assistance program are working to help millions in America and aboard.

During the four consecutives the 2009 through 2010 Gift Of Giving Food Drive will collect over 100,000 pounds of food to launch our campaign to help support Gift Of Giving Feed The Hungry Program project, and We look forward to the possibility of your partnership in our cooperative efforts to help us collect over 100,000 pounds of food to support the one million needy individuals in Michigan that will seek food assistance.
Your donation will help feed many families in metropolitan Detroit, Michigan, including Wayne, Macomb and Oakland counties. The 2009 through 2012 Gift Of Giving Food Drive will collects food commodities, food products, perishable and nonperishable food products, frozen foods, non-alcoholic beverages and toiletries, which support The Gift Of Giving Feed The Hungry Program.
During these four years, our organization will be providing food boxes for over 10,000 economically disadvantaged families each month for the next three years. Without your support, these needy disadvantaged families will not have food to feed themselves or their children. In metropolitan Detroit, Michigan alone 93% of households lives at or below the poverty rate. Our goal is to provide food for these needy families and help eliminate hunger in America and southeastern Michigan.
Our program will also provide food for homeless single mothers with children and the homeless single mothers with children leaving out of domestic violence situation, while residing in The Gift Of A Helping Hand Emergency Shelter. Sixty percent of the homeless population is single mothers with children and 0.2% of the cases are domestic violence cases of single mothers with children. 38% of the hungry population in Detroit, Michigan are children.

Toys For Teens and Toys for Children 12 and under
During the four consecutive years, the 2009 through 2012 Gift Of Giving Toy Drive will collect over 40,000 toys for teens and for children 12 and under to help support The Gift Of Giving New Toys For Needy Children And Teen Program. The campaign will collect hundreds of Video Consoles, Video Games, IPod, iphone, laptop, computers, toys and Hand Held Video Games to help support the 2009 Gift Of Giving Toy Drive. Over 40,000 children under 18 years old will go without a Christmas this year without your support. So support us in our Toy Drive and donate Video Consoles, Video Games, IPod, iphone, laptop, computer and Hand Held Video Games to our program to serve under privileged teens and children 12 years and under.
We need you to help support the 2009 through 2012 Gift Of Giving Toy Drive. The Gift Of Giving New Toys For Needy Children And Teens is a seasonal project implemented to provide needy children and teens in the state of Michigan with new toys to be placed under their Christmas tree during the holidays. The Gift Of Giving Toy Drive collects new toys for teens and for children 12 and under annually and help support The Gift Of Giving New Toys For Needy Children And Teens Program. The program mission is to give underprivileged and underserved children and teens the opportunity to receive new toys on Christmas Day, since 93% of household in metropolitan Detroit, Michigan lives at or below the poverty-rate.
During the time frame of the following years, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 our organization will be providing new toys for over 40,000 economically disadvantaged children and teens for these consecutive years. Toys For Teens and Toys for Children 12 and under will serve homeless children residing in The Gift Of A Helping Hand Emergency Shelter and other homeless shelter throughout metropolitan Detroit, Michigan and other Wayne counties.
At least 60% of the homeless population is single mothers with children and 39% of the homeless population is single mother leaving out of domestic violence situations. 48% of the poverty-stricken in Wayne county, Michigan is children. Without your support these needy children will not have toys for Christmas Day. We need your assistance and support in providing toys for needy children for the holidays.
The program will provide new toys for other underprivileged children residing in homeless shelters in southeastern Michigan including Wayne, Macomb, Monroe and Oakland counties. The program will give low-income daycare centers, head start programs, and Afterschool programs the opportunity to receive new toys to distributed to low-income children residing at their facilities.
